Reviews from other students 💬

“I used Physics Lab all year for AP Physics 1, and it was by far the most helpful resource I found. Unlike the Princeton Review books, which are mostly just good for last-minute review, Physics Lab actually goes in-depth and supports you throughout the whole course. The explanations are clear, the practice is challenging and aligned with the AP style, and it made concepts that initially felt impossible actually make sense. It honestly played a huge role in helping me ace the class. Highly recommend it if you're serious about understanding the material - not just memorizing it."

"Amazing course. Gives a very complete guide and I credit it with a very big chunk of the reason I'm succeeding in AP Physics."

Nina S.
Scored a 5 on the AP Physics 1 exam

"The resources this course offers helped me out immensely on the exam. I was trying to self-study for the AP Physics 1 test, but due to the recent change in the course syllabus I had a hard time finding up-to-date materials. However this course provided essentially everything that I needed to review and practice for the test and saved me so much time finding materials. As a result I felt much more confident taking the AP test. I highly recommend this to anyone who is studying AP Physics 1."

Scored a 5 on the AP Physics 1 exam

“It's really good, it's around the actual exam's difficulty level, and it's very well priced. If you have the AP Physics 1 exam coming up this is a no-brainer."

Mihir M.
Scored a 5 on the AP Physics 1 exam

“Having all of the resources was a great way for me to streamline my practice for the AP Physics 1 exam. Since the MCQs were quite similar to the actual exam they helped me get used to the test format. The practice problems and topic-specific videos helped me focus on areas where I needed improvement, and overall the platform felt more aligned with the AP exam compared to Khan Academy."

Doria L.

    FAQ
Is this course aligned with the 2025-2026 AP® Physics 1 curriculum?

Yes, this course is aligned with the 2025-2026 curriculum and the 2026 AP® Physics 1 exam. Some of the recent changes include a new fluids unit, connections between circular and rotational motion, and 40 multiple-choice exam questions.

Are the questions similar to the AP® exam?

Students who have taken the AP® Physics 1 exam said that the AP®-style questions in this course are very similar to the actual exam and really helped them prepare for the format and difficulty of the AP® exam.

What are the prerequisites for this course?

No prior physics knowledge is required to use this course. You should be comfortable with algebra (rearranging and solving equations for unknown variables). It may help to know some basic trigonometry (sin, cos and tan) but that’s covered in the Basics section of the course and explained again when ever it comes up.

How do I use this course as a supplemental resource if I’m already taking a physics class?

The course is organized so you can easily review the resources you want for a specific topic, you don’t have to use the full course or go in order. You can use the course to review material that you learned in class so you understand it better, learn any material that your teacher didn’t cover, reference the concepts and equations when doing homework, review material when studying for a test, and prepare for the AP® Physics 1 exam. If your teacher doesn’t give you AP-style questions throughout the year you can use the questions in this course to become familar with the exam format.

How do I use this course if I’m self-studying?

This is a complete, self-paced course that anyone can use to self-study AP® Physics 1. Use the included pacing guide to create a custom schedule and stay on track throughout the year. Then you can just follow the course in order and work through each topic page from top to bottom. If you have any questions you can always get help from the course instructor and other students in the Discord server, or you can email the instructor if you prefer.

How do I use this course to prepare for the AP® Physics 1 exam?

If you don’t have a lot of time left, you can work through one practice test at a time to find out which topics you’re the least confident in (the topics for each question are mentioned in the solutions). Then you can spend your time reviewing just those topics: read through the study guides, watch the videos and work through practice problems. AP-style questions are included for each topic so you can practice specific questions. If you have more time to review, you can start by reading through all of the study guides, watching videos for topics you don’t remember and working through practice problems. Then do the practice tests and FRQs from previous exams.

Do I need any other resources or materials in addition to this course?

You will need something to work through problems and take notes if you like (notebook and pen, tablet, etc.) or you can print out the practice problems and work on them directly. You will also need a scientific calculator (that has things like sin/cos/tan) or you can use an online calculator like Wolfram Alpha. Other than that this course is designed to cover everything, no textbook or other resources needed. If you need 1-on-1 help you can always chat with the course instructor on Discord or over email.

How do I register for the AP® Physics 1 exam?

Most students register through their class or school. If that isn’t an option you can likely find a nearby school that offers the exam. Learn more about this on the College Board website.

How much time do I need to spend on the course? Is it self-paced?

The course is self-paced and includes a pacing guide to help you plan things out and stay on track. If you watch every video and do every problem over a 9-month school year you might spend about 2-3 hours per week on the course. If you just want to review, it might take about 10 hours to review all of the study guides and 5-6 hours to do the 4 practice tests.
